How do I prepare for my online medical cannabis appointment?

Our process is simple, you can book an appointment online or over the phone.  No physician referral is needed. You only need to complete the patient intake form we email to you before your appointment.

What can I expect during my online visit with the medical specialist?

  • At your online appointment you will meet with one of our Physicians or Nurses to determine if medical cannabis is right for you.
  • Once your assessment is complete and your eligibility is determined you will be provided with a medical cannabis prescription.
  • We will help you register with a Licensed Producer (these are manufacturers regulated by Health Canada) so that you can place an order with them to fulfill your prescription.
  • Medical cannabis will be mailed directly to your door.
  • After 3 months, we will schedule a follow up appointment for you to meet with one of our Physicians or Nurses to ensure your treatment is working as desired.
  • Our appointment length may vary depending on the nature of the case but in general your consultations will take approximately 20 minutes. Follow-up appointments are generally significantly shorter.

Can anyone book an online appointment for medical cannabis?

Unlike cannabis for recreational purposes, there are no age restrictions for medical cannabis and the decision to authorize medical cannabis remains under the discretion of the healthcare provider.  Prescribing medical cannabis is not first-line therapy for any medical condition.  Any patient who would like to use medical cannabis must be supervised by a Licensed Medical Professional to ensure that the medication is used safely and to maximum efficacy.

Medical cannabis is not recommended if you:

  • Are allergic to any cannabinoid or smoke
  • Have serious liver, kidney, heart, or lung disease
  • Have a personal or family history of serious mental disorders such as schizophrenia, psychosis, depression, or bipolar disorder
  • Are pregnant, are planning to get pregnant, or are breast-feeding
  • Have a history of alcohol or drug abuse or substance dependence.
