Our network of podiatrists are trained to help with a variety of common complaints and conditions that you may have. These include:

  • Sprains or injuries

  • Hammer toes

  • Warts or blisters

  • Infections of the nail or feet

  • Calluses, bunions, or corns

  • Ingrown toenails

  • Heel pain or spurs

  • Odor issues

  • Nerve problems

Is there a benefit to seeing a podiatrist rather than my usual family doctor?

The main difference and benefit is that podiatrists are specially trained in conditions relating to the feet, while a family doctor will generally treat all conditions of the body. Therefore, if you are looking for advice relating to a specific foot complaint then a podiatrist may be better qualified to provide care.

Are certain individuals more likely to need to see a foot doctor?

Yes, there are a number of health conditions that can increase risk of foot complaints, including:

  • Heart disease or stroke
  • High cholesterol
  • Poor blood circulation
  • Diabetes
  • Arthritis or gout
  • Obesity

When should I see a podiatrist?

If you notice any irregularities in your feet or how they feel, then you should visit a podiatrist. Symptoms could include:

  • Pain or tenderness
  • Cracked toenails
  • Numbness or burning
  • Ulcers or sores
  • Odor
  • Growths

How do podiatrists diagnose foot conditions?

To assess the complaint, the foot doctor may ask you to stand and walk so that they can watch for range of motion. If necessary, they may conduct some tests, which could be:

  • X-ray
  • Nail swab
  • Ultrasound
  • Bloods
  • MRI scan

What will the online podiatrist appointment be like?

Appointments usually take between five to thirty minutes depending on the individual need. The online podiatrist will ask for a description of your symptoms and reason for the appointment. This will allow them to determine the best course of treatment. If necessary, the podiatrist may recommend a follow-up appointment or a visit to a physical clinic.
